I was asked to upgrade to the File Provider version after rebooting, so I just followed the steps and clicked accordingly. I found that indexing took hours, but since I needed to work, I signed out and back in to downgrade from File Provider as mentioned in the FAQ. After downgrading, I found that all file paths existed,…
It is about Windows 11 built-in backup and restore feature. I need to check if Dropbox is safe with this feature. Suppose I backed up every Windows setting with this image backup feature built inside Windows 11. My Dropbox storage is located in E driver (not C driver). Suppose my Windows gets a problem in the future.…
Very Dissatisfied At Hearing About The Vault Being Discontinued. The Vault is an extremely handy extra security feature, adding another layer of security. I’m very dismayed to hear that Dropbox, has astonishingly, come to the decision to drop this feature! It makes zero sense. I hope that the company will reevaluate this…
Windows 11, fully updated, Dropbox Plus version 218.4.4348 (which appears to be latest version as I downloaded and installed ?most recent" update from Dropbox and it was the same). Still shows "Updating 2 files" constantly. Everything else seems fine, and file syncing does not seem to be impacted. I have read of others…
Hello everyone, I seem to be having the same problem as everyone else: Dropbox stops syncing on Windows 11. I have been working on this problem on and off for several days and none of the "known" solutions are working: after a few hours/day, Dropbox simply stops syncing. When I close Dropbox and re-open it, it's starts…

The icon is no longer in the Taskbar even though the program still shows within the Start menu and the folders show in File Explorer. I have tried the following: * A restart because that's the first thing you ask for. *…
As the title says my dropbox folder in file explorer for some reason has started to automatically open every time I start my laptop / the dropbox app launches. I have not changed any settings (to the best of my knowledge) but for the life of me can't figure out how to prevent this from happening.
In the app window when I try to select an icon at the top another duplicate but smaller window appears. The same issue occurs in other places (see 2nd screenshot). I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the app but the same problem occurs. Does anyone know how to fix this?
I encounter a 100% reproducible but very weird error. I have two machines running Ubuntu Linux, my laptop (24.10) and my server (22.04). I used to use Dropbox to keep the files on both of them in sync for years and it has always worked perfectly (I am on a paid plan and have a pretty large amount of files). I use the…
