Dropbox automatically moved the location of my files on Mac during the day while Dropbox files were open in multiple applications, which caused unnecessary disruption. A change this significant should not happen automatically without clear advance notice and a chance to close affected files first.
At some point I turned on backup, and now find my account over the 3T budget. So effectively DB has stopped working. The problem is that I have no memory of what computer is backed up. I've disconnected all but two. There seems no convenient way from the web app to turn this off or delete the backup. Neither of the…
I'm on Dropbox 254.4.2518 on Windows 10 and I can't update to any newer version. Every time I manually try to install a newer version, it fails with error code -1073741819 and the message "Installation failed with an unknown error." I've tried installing multiple newer versions using the standard installer, the full…
Hi I added comments into a text file, saved it and uploaded the file into Dropbox on my PC. I can open Dropbox in two ways: taskbar > globe (1) etc. or taskbar > Folders (2) etc. When I open Dropbox (1): the file opens but without my comments. Going route (2): the comments are visible. Is this the way it should be? Is…
It used to be that if a file was online only and was not currently synced to the computer, when a software tool would try to access the file, it would automatically download and sync that file. For example, I am often working on Ableton music sessions that involve a ton of sample libraries I own that take up far more space…
I use Dropbox on two Macs - an M4 MacBook Pro and an M4 iMac (both 2024). Recently I migrated everything from an older Intel iMac to the M4. There was some trouble with the Dropbox migration - no idea what - but afterward the new iMac showed 305GB more usage than the old one had. It turns out there's a folder called…

In the last 10 days on 2 seperate occasions The Cloud Sync has disconnected from dropbox account. I have had to log in twice now to the NAS…
Hi there, When i click on the dropbox application, it just takes me to the folder and doesn't launch the application. When I go to system settings and menu bar, the option to toggle dropbox on, so that it displays is not there (the dropbox app just simply isn't mentioned). How do I fix this?
My old external 2TB hard drive crashed. I need to download all the files (about 1.6TB worth) I have online (in the Cloud) down to my new external hard drive. I'm not seeing an easy way to do that. I would appreciate any help. Thanks much!! Scott
New Macbook here, upgrading from a 2019 Intel-based system; used Migration Assistant and everything seems fine. I'm getting a bunch of these warning pop-ups: Support Ending for Intel-based Apps This version of "DropboxUpdater" will not open in a future release of macOS. Learn how to update to an Apple silicon version. I…
I don't understand how this is not a feature yet + I've seen it be mentioned many times around this forum and the internet. We NEED a way to customize the photos tab. Currently, it's just everything in your Dropbox account!! Having family photos and random pixelated development assets show up next to each other is…
In line with someone else's idea, I would like the option to select multiple starred files and remove the star in one operation, rather than the current functionality, which requires users to remove the star from each file individually.
I do not particularly enjoy looking at dark mode during day time. If you could add a simple toggle like this, it would be very helpful: • Dark Mode • Light Mode • System Dark Mode can remain the default though.
It's a hassle to turn on "Allow Downloads" every time and triple-check it before sending files over. I think most people would benefit from this being the default setting. We can always disable downloading for times when we need it.
When someone clicks on the video, it should pause and play instead of drawing/annotations. People are used to playing and pausing that way. There should be a separate button if someone wants to draw something in the frame. Frame.io does this well. Can we see that in Replay?
