Currently, Dropbox Replay only sends status update notifications
to the file owner (when a collaborator changes the status).
There is no notification sent to project members when the file
owner changes the status.
Example workflow where this causes friction:
- File owner uploads a new version and sets status to
"Needs Review" - Project member (client) receives NO notification
- Owner must use a separate tool (Slack, email, etc.)
to manually notify the client — an extra step that
defeats the purpose of having a status system
Requested behavior:
When any project member changes the status of a file,
ALL project members should receive an email notification
(based on their individual notification settings).
This would make the status feature genuinely useful
for client review workflows, eliminating the need for
separate communication tools just to say
"please check the file."
