Hi everyone,
A few updates have rolled out recently, so here’s a quick look at what’s changed and what you might find while using Dropbox.
Just a quick note before we jump in: the updates available to you may vary depending on your Dropbox plan, account and device.
Need more space? You can now add more Space Packs
If you have a Dropbox Plus plan, you can now add multiple Space Packs, giving the option to increase your storage if your account is starting to feel a little full. Depending on your Dropbox plan you may be able to purchase additional storage in 1 TB increments.
Sharing has had a refresh
The experience for sharing files and folders has been updated with a cleaner, more streamlined look. Whether you’re sending over one file or collaborating through a shared folder, the steps should now feel a little clearer.
Choose the thumbnail for your videos
You’ll also have more control over how your video files appear in Dropbox. Instead of using the thumbnail automatically selected by Dropbox, you’ll be able to choose the
thumbnail you want to use for your video files - handy for making videos easier to recognise at a quick glance.
What’s new with Dropbox Protect?
Dropbox Protect helps teams keep sensitive data secure by giving admins greater visibility over their teams content. It’s continuing to evolve, with lots of new features launching to help teams better understand and manage their data. Here is what’s new:
- Automated data classification
- Risk scoring and reporting
- Scheduled policy enforcement
- Domain removal actions
- Information about when content was last accessed
Also, some good news for our community members in Japan - Dropbox Protect is now available in Japan.
More watermark protection in DocSend Spaces
You can now add tiled watermarks to supported files shared through DocSend Spaces.
These watermarks can include details such as the viewer’s email address, IP address, account name and the date and time they opened the file. They can also appear on downloaded PDFs, helping you keep shared content protected without changing the original file.
Preview Markdown files in your web browser with Dropbox
Opening a Markdown file in Dropbox now gives you a richer and easier-to-read preview directly in your browser.
Titles, tables, lists, code blocks, quotes, images and URLs can all be displayed in their proper format, rather than appearing as plain text.
The updated preview supports .md, .markdown, .mdwn and other Markdown file types.
