Is there a way to hide or shrink column data when viewing in List Mode?

Example:
Video - Can be just represented by the camera icon.
Image - Can be represented by the img icon.
Status - Can be shrunk down to the colour code (without the text).

My work requires a long file name convention and sometimes this can get quite messy.
If you're able to display file names when I hover over the file - that would certainly help as well.

*With the list view, I quickly see the overall project.
