Does rewind lose my current work

Hi All

 

Got an email today saying thousands of my dropbox files had been deleted (by me on 19th Feb 4 days ago).  Really!  I did use an app on my PC called Duplicate File Finder and it found heaps of duplicate files mainly photos etc.  OK I needed to save some space so hit the delete duplicates button.  Anyway today I found that a lot more than photos had been deleted inc many important documents tax etc.  I am on a paid plan Dropbox Plus, so I am thinking of just using "rewind" to a time just before the deletions - but what happens to my work created and on dropbox since that time IE my current work files.  I just cannot lose them it took me 4 days to get that work done etc.  How to proceed?  Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi @johnlink, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

 

When using Dropbox Rewind, as it sounds, it would rewind the entire account or folder you're selecting to an earlier date. Any changes made since that date would be lost, so I'd recommend making a copy of those files you want to keep and saving them elsewhere that won't be affected by the changes.

 

If you're rewinding the whole account, then you'd need to save the files outside of the Dropbox folder itself.
