I'd like to be able to email links to team members to take them to Dropbox folders on their local computers in Windows File Explorer rather than the web view. Are there any hacks you can share that would let me do this?
Hey there, @scott_s, welcome to our Community!
Currently, all Dropbox share links open on dropbox.com first, so it isn't possible to bypass the web page entirely. However, when they click the link, they’ll land on the Dropbox web view and see an “Open in” dropdown. They can choose “Open in File Explorer" and that action will launch the Desktop App integration and reveal the folder in Windows File Explorer.
You can read more details about how this works here, and also on this similar thread.

Right. I understand, and this is what I do. But others won't/don't take these steps, and I want to provide a one-click solution.
I am hoping to find a hack that allows for one-click opening in Windows File Explorer that circumvents the default Dropbox behavior.
Hey there, @scott_s!
I definitely see where you're coming from. In that case I'll keep the thread open as other users often share great workarounds for custom setups here.
Please let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with!
