Transferred files show as 0kB and don't open.

My account was over the basic storage space so I downloaded all my files to an external drive. I see that all folders and files names have been transferred but literally NOT one file opens because they contain "zero bytes".

I was on 2TB trial and more than willing to pay to recover! PLEASE HELP!!!

Hey @Bokono, let's jump right into this!

Just to make sure we're aligned: did you use our desktop app or website to download and transfer your files to your external drive? Also, did you then delete the content off of your Dropbox account?

Have you taken a look at your deleted files page, or events page by any chance?

Hi!

I dragged all files from website straight to external hard drive and after the transfer was done. Yes, I deleted all my files from my Dropbox account. Before deleting, I checked if everything was in my external, they were. Great!

Now I can’t open anything from my external hard drive. I saw all files were deleted from my history

Do I have any shred of hope recovering my files? They are my absolute treasured photos from early 1980-2010. Thank you so much in advance!

How long ago did you delete them? If it was over 30 days its not possible I'm afraid. Even upgrading wont help as upgrades are not retroactive.
