Please help! I was charged just shy of $200 on a DropBox acct that I did not know was there. Please help me cancel and get the refund
Hi @joyanisa74
You need to follow https://help.dropbox.com/accounts-billing/payments-billing/refund - note that refunds are only given where legally required.
If you did not give Dropbox your card details then you need to be contacting your card issuer and reporting fraud.
it's just a joke not to inform a direct contact to solve the problems. should stop selling in Brazil. I canceled a subscription and I can't receive it. Absurd.Ticket #16967100: Dropbox Support Chat
Thanks for posting on our forum today, @Jorge Pires .
I was able to locate your ticket in our system, and from what our agent mentioned, they’ve processed a refund for your Dropbox subscription.
If you haven’t done so already, can you please get in touch with your bank? There’s a chance that your refund may still be in pending state, so they’ll be able to check this for you and make sure you receive your refunded money.
Let me know if you need help after that, though.

You'll need to contact Dropbox Support directly. Visit the Support page while you're NOT signed in to a Dropbox account, including these forums, and you'll see an option for Billing issues. It's best to use an Incognito or Private browsing session to make sure you're not signed in.
I would like to know if I cancel my subscription will I get reimbursed for the time I have paid for? I am asking because I paid for a 1 year renewal in July and have only used about 2 moths of the subscription. Can I get reimbursed for the unused 10 months?

When you cancel a subscription, all you're cancelling is the automatic renewal. You'll retain your account benefits until your next billing cycle at which time your subscription will end and your account will be downgraded back to Basic. There are no refunds.

You can try contacting Support, but there are usually no refunds.
Apply on 9/10/65 128us think 128 Thai baht a lot of money
Help me, it's a lot of money. This burden is not because of misunderstanding I don't know much about currency, please.
@aotlove
Nobody here can help. Its an account issue that you can ONLY correct via the links @Rich has already given.
If thats the pricing you have paid @aotlove you have almost certainly set Dropbox to take payments annually instead of monthly.
Excuse me? No refunds?
Dropbox gives people 14 days refund policy if for whatever reason they are not satisfied.
Btw, if you paid through Paypal you will have to either contact them first at paypalie@dropbox.com
And if you are a EU citizen Dropbox is required to refund you within 30 days by EU consumer law.

No, they don't. In most cases, payments for Dropbox subscriptions and team member licenses aren’t refundable.
The currency mentioned here, Baht, is the currency used in Thailand, which would not be covered by the EU consumer law.
Hi @aotlove, happy Monday!
I just sent you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this. Reply back to me, and we'll take it from there.
Cheers!
Hi,
I can see there are multiple cases of this on the discussion board already but I am confused as when I try to Submit my ticket of complaint it just gives me an 'error' message.
I too was charged £199 for a full year's subscription even though I cancelled successfully on the 30th day. I didn't receive any prior notice about renewal and had notification for the cancellation myself in my phone so don't agree this should have gone through on my paypal.
A little bit frustrated as I understand the rules but feel I complied.
Kind regards,
Niall
You need to log a ticket with support to ask for assistance. As it is an account issue nobody is able to assist on the forums.
www.dropbox.com/support.
Support tickets can be logged 247 but replies are Monday to Friday only, yes.

I cancelled successfully on the 30th day.
If you cancelled on the last day, then the transaction was likely already sent for processing. With many subscriptions and trials (not just Dropbox), you typically need to cancel by at least 24 hours prior to the end of the trial or subscription to avoid renewal.
It's a pity they don't send you any notice or outline this in t&cs. It probably is my mistake but not one I can afford.

Did you submit a ticket and did you receive a ticket number in email? If so, reply here with the ticket number and a Dropboxer might be able to check on its status.
Thanks to everyone who replied to this thread.
They agreed to a refund and were very professional about it.
Relieved,
PS: While I'm here has anybody had any issues with photos going missing from their basic account? That was whole reason I got the free trial, I thought they may have been behind a paywall, I store my photos alphabetically and my folders from A to C have slowly emptied without me doing so. Strange one.
Hi @Rabbits1077, I hope you’re doing well.
Can you let me know if you initially upgraded your Dropbox account via www.dropbox.com or the App Store/Play Store instead? That’ll help me guide you further.
