How secure is Dropbox when it comes to sharing sensitive information?

Question

I'm just wondering how secure and safe is drop box for sharing sensitive information.  Using a gmail or other email account to send a file through drop box for example.  Is there a way or need when you send a file to add a passcode requirement to the recipient?

Also is drop box more secure to share through than that google drive?
