Is there a way to restore files that were deleted in May, while on a Basic plan?

Hey,

I hope you're having a good week. I'm reaching out because I'm in a bit of a panic, i found out today that files gets deleted after receiving a notice email that i didn't see at the time.

I'm on the Dropbox Basic plan,  and i just realized today that they were gone, and after some digging found that the history says that they were deleted on the 22th of may, they are incredibly important to me.

Is there something that can be done? english isn't is my first language so sorry if anthing was wrong

The email is in spanish but it regards the automatic deletion of files if i didn't upgrade in time, i don't recall having a paid personal account

As i said i didn't see this until yesterday, hopefully theres something that i can do

Tu cuenta está por encima de su límite de almacenamiento. Si no haces nada al respecto antes del 22 de mayo de 2026 , tus archivos se eliminarán.

Cómo sucedió esto:

Es posible que hayas tenido una suscripción de pago, que hayas formado parte de un equipo cuyo límite de almacenamiento era mayor o que hayas tenido una carpeta compartida a la que otras personas agregaban contenido.

Lo que puedes hacer:

* Elegir un plan que se adapte a tus necesidades de almacenamiento, a partir de 2000 GB.
* Iniciar sesión y eliminar archivos para liberar espacio.

¿Qué pasa si no haces nada?

Si tu almacenamiento sigue estando por encima del límite el 22 de mayo de 2026, tomaremos medidas para hacer que tu cuenta esté dentro del límite. Esto incluye borrar archivos y hacer que abandones carpetas compartidas.

Just to confirm, you said you received an email regarding the deletion, could you copy and paste the contents of that email here, while hiding any personal info like emails, names or filenames?

Were you recently on a paid personal plan, or part of a Dropbox team or Family plan?

Whatever details you can provide, even if they seem small, will help us get to the bottom of this together.
