How do I stop files being deleted due to inactivity?

@Mark i was gonna ask about the comment u made 2 years ago saying that the content and files in dropbox gets deleted after 12 months of inactivity, how do i stop that? what constitutes inactivity? because i got a warning that my files may be deleted as it exceeded

All info relating to inactive accounts is available here or it will be on the email you've received. You basically need to be logging in at least once a year, and staying under quota.

what exactly entails staying under quota?

Making sure the volume of files you have on Dropbox is less than your quota which shows at http://www.dropbox.com/account/plan

but why files exceed the space, does it mean it will delete all my files including the ones in my own downloads folder?

Its possible if you have put more on to Dropbox than allowed, possibly via shared folders, or if you had a temporary storage quota thats now been removed.

It will only delete files on Dropbox - i.e. that you can see if the Dropbox folder or at http://www.dropbox.com/home

so i would have to pay to buy more storage if i don't want them deleted? Have u encountered this problem?

am i automatically on trial if i create dropbox? i don't rmb paying or getting trials for this, it just automatically exceed the limit

Yes, if you're over your account's quota limit, you'll need to upgrade your account, and no, you're not automatically on a trial for a Dropbox subscription unless you started on yourself Shawn07.
