Change Notifications

Is there a list of changes to the Dropbox portal and apps published somewhere? I'd like to be notified of changes, even seemingly minor changes, so that I can preview them and then make our team aware of the changes. It would be really great if the development team compiled the changes into a document; perhaps they do and I just don't know where to find it. If it exists, please let me know.

Lately there have been changes to the web portal UI that just "appear"; the "rename pencil" is the latest example. There is now a pencil icon next to a file or folder name, and you can rename it by simply clicking on the pencil. Another example is when the user account Avatar moved from the upper right to the lower left. This messed with a lot of our user documentation.

Hi Amy, thanks for the reply. I'm aware of the desktop client release notes. However, I'm more concerned and am asking about the web portal feature/change release notes. I push my users to primarily use the web portal, as our very large data set makes the desktop client a little "wobbly". It's in the web portal where things "magically appear" or mysteriously move around. We create a lot of "how-to" guides for our users that include screenshots of the web portal, and when something changes there it can obsolete our user guides. Release notes would help us stay on top of the changes and identify which user guides need updates.

Thanks for the extra context, @Mick Fandrich, that is really helpful. I've checked in with the team, and it looks like you might have been seeing some experiments that were running. We don't have release notes for these, but I understand that is a frustrating experience and I think we can still help to reduce this for you.

Just for context, there are a small number of experiments that run at any given time, that are only seen by a small percentage of Dropbox users, which might explain the differences your colleagues are seeing. These experiments run in small, regular tests to find out what options works best for customers, and are actually supposed to reduce the changes any one person would see. I can make sure your team is excluded from these in future - it sounds like you've been randomly selected enough!

That should reduce the mystery updates, but I will just flag that there will still be updates from time to time, as we improve the interface so if you are still seeing any issues, please let me know! Also, if you have any screenshots or details of what has changed if it happens again, I can bring it to the team ASAP.
