Hi,
I accidentally deleted an important file while cleaning out my Dropbox folder. It's not showing up in recently deleted. That's basically the only help I get from the chatbot. Are there any other ways to restore this?
Thanks!
Thanks for posting on the forum, @jjcmowery!
If the file was deleted from the local Dropbox folder on your desktop app and it hadn't been synced to your web account/our servers in the past, I'm afraid there's not much that can be done, but let's check a few things first.
When was that file deleted exactly from your Dropbox account?
Have you checked both your Deleted files page and your Events page?
Keep me posted.
I deleted it on the Dec 25. I see only 2 files in the Deleted files page out of maybe 40+ files deleted. I see that I edited the document on the events page, and it allows me to download it but it's corrupt when trying to open it. Also says the file size is Zero KB which indicates it's corrupt. The file name is Cash Flow Anaysis Dropbox.xlsx
Thanks for the additional details! Did you edit this file on your desktop app before deleting it on the 12/25? If yes, do you remember if the updates managed to sync to our website before removing the file altogether from your computer?
Please keep in mind that we don’t have account visibility on the forum to look up this file, but feel free to send me a screenshot of what you see under your Events/Deleted files pages and I’ll take another look.
