My Photos folder is empty but uploaded photos are chowing only in Camera Uploads, this only changed today. help please?
Hi Everybody,
Thank you so much for reporting that everything is back to normal. Our engineering team implemented a fix that should restore visibility of photos in the Photos tab. If you're still experiencing any issues, let us know and I'll make sure that information is passed along.
Thanks,
Ben

No this issue has not been resolved for me. As stated above, media in the Camera uploads folder and its sub-folders have now reappeared on the Photos tab but media in other folders are still missing. All media in all folders used to be shown, this is not currently the case. Your partial fix worked for Camera uploads, it now needs to be applied to other folders as well.
Hi @-Lisa- ,
Thanks for keeping me in the loop.
I will pass the information on to the team.
We'll update you as we look into this, if necessary can we reach out to the email linked to your account ?
Thank you @DBX_Pedro, yes of course you can use that email although I don’t think I can offer you any more information.
I see a new version of the app has been released and I have updated one device, so I now have an iPhone on app version 396.2.6 and an iPad on version 398.2.2 but both are showing the same results.
Camera uploads media contents are visible on the Photos tab but other folders media contents are not.
I look forward to a fix being released.
@-Lisa- Have you ever tried resetting the "photos" tab? This function is available under the settings.
For me, all photos from all folders on the iPhone and iPad are displayed in the "Photos" tab.
Thanks for trying to help @schoereli , but yes I have reset many times since Friday. If you scroll back to the first page of this thread you will see this is one of the first things I tried. At least I only have a few hundred photos in my account at the moment so it doesn’t take long to do the reset.
Hi .... IOS devices working ok ... Viewing photos via the website isn't working for us now ... It was for a while but extremely slow. however no photos are loading at all now.
Just having to politely vent here 🙂
On top of other ongoing reported glitches we have had photo indexing issues for several weeks when viewing photos via a browser.I had hoped this outage indicated that Dropbox were trying to fix the problem. This known indexing issue has been escalated to engineering who are aware of the problem via a support ticket.... no communication, so it seems not. What has happened to the software quality control, why are there now so many issues ?
Last night we watched a new OneDrive Microsoft Teams event. No champagne, audiences or any other nonsense, just several individuals presenting for thirty minutes some very impressive updates to their OneDrive - Search, Photos mobile platform and storage plans.... take a look.
We have been a paying customers since 11/2008, however we're moving on for the foreseeable I'm afraid - sigh
We've passed this information on as previously mentioned and this process is still in progress.
Just to reassure you this is still being looked into.
We'll let you know as soon as we receive feedback.
Hi @Anonymous,
Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
We can see how ongoing issues like this would be really frustrating, especially for a long-time user.
We'll continue to work on improvements to the product.
If there is anything else we can help you with, Please reach out to us.
Thanks for the update @DBX_Pedro. I am glad you haven’t forgotten about this as it is still an issue, however I have discovered a workaround.
Pics in Camera uploads appear in the Photos tab, pics in other folders do not. If you move pics from another folder into Camera uploads they will then appear. If you then move them back out they do not disappear even though they are no longer in Camera uploads. If you ‘clear cache’ and then ‘reset photos tab’ they remain in the Photos tab even though the pics are now in another folder. So something must happen to the pic file as it is moved in (or out) of Camera uploads that allows it to then be picked up for displaying in the Photos tab later no matter where it is at that time. I hope this is helpful.
Hi @-Lisa-,
Thanks so much for sharing your feedback. We would like to check if you would like to close this as resolved, or is there anything else we can help you with?We can take it from there.
@DBX_Pedro
There is still a fault in your software but for me, personally I no longer have a problem as I have found my own fix.
I will leave it up to your conscience to decide whether you close this as resolved or continue to investigate to prevent future problems for other users.
Hi everyone,
Just a quick check-in to see if the issue persists.
Is anyone still having trouble, could you share any specific error message you're seeing?
We just want to make sure everything's working smoothly for you.
Of course it persists. After resetting photos in the settings going to the photos tab either shows "No photos uploaded" or a blank page with the animated loading square but nothing is loaded in.
Camera uploads are being processed but we can't see their status.
Hi @_4,
We've passed this along to the team so they can assist you.
Would it be ok to reach you through the email associated with this account?
Thank you for your patience, and we'll update you as soon as we have more information.
That'd be fine.
Thanks for the cooperation @_4 - I've just followed up via email so please have a look at your inbox and we'll take it from there.
Hi everyone
I have this same problem right now and I can't get into a solution. I'm doing everything on a web browser in my PC. Basically the issue is that I see lots of pictures in the 'camera uploads' folder, which I cannot see in the "Photos" folder, which is strange as the "Photos" folder is, to my understanding, just a folder where all pictures are viewed in. The other issue I have is that I cannot find a way to batch move several pictures from the 'camera uploads' folder to another folder. It only allows me to move one by one. Can anybody help?
@Afonse-DK, regarding the issue with the Photos page, does it appear empty if you open it via a different web browser/your current browser’s incognito window?
As for moving pictures in bulk, you can definitely do this, but you’ll need to select all of them first in your “Camera Uploads” folder (you can do this by hovering over them and clicking on the small square button on the left side of the filename to select the ones you want).
Thanks for a quick response @Nancy . I just tried with Edge (I use Chrome always), and it's the same thing. It's not that the Photos folder is empty; I can see all the other sub-folders I have created myself, and which I use to save my pictures with manual copy-paste. My problem is that the Camera uploads folder contains pictures that are automatically backed-up (or copied) from my iPhone, but those pictures are nowhere to be found in the Photos folder, which does not make sense to me. It forces me to move pictures manually from Camera Uploads to Photos, which then makes this functionality pretty useless.
On the other issue of batch moving pictures, I cannot figure it out. I have tried selecting them in batch as you describe, but then there is no Move link anywhere (only Copy, Delete, etc.). Nowhere can I see a Move link, and the only way I can access the Move function is by clicking on the three dots on the top right corner, but although I have selected several pictures it only moves the one where I clicked on the three dots. Again, pretty useless. Any help on this would be highly appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks for clarifying! The pictures of your “Camera Uploads” folder should indeed appear under the Photos tab on your Dropbox account.
However, since “Photos” is a tab on your account and not an actual folder (where photos can be moved to), can you elaborate on what you mean when saying you have to manually move your pictures under Photos instead? If you can send over a couple of screenshots, that’d be great, too.
As for the moving function not working after selecting multiple files, I’d like you to try this again and send me a full screenshot of what you see. It’ll help to have a visual and check if I can guide you from there.
Hi again. Ok, so let's first take the issue with moving a batch of photos. I'm attaching a screenshot showing pics in the Photos tab, which are basically automatically uploaded on the 'camera uploads' folder (although I cannot see them in the camera uploads folder, which is the other issue). As you can see, there is no "move" option anywhere. So how do I move a batch of pictures from this tab into whatever other folder?
Hey @Afonse-DK, thanks for the screenshot!
Here's what I'd like for us to try: if you hover your mouse on the top, right corner of a picture in your Photos tab you should be able to see an ellipsis (...) there that shows the "more" option there.
If you click that, and then click "Open" it should open the file in its actual path. So if you file is in your Camera Uploads, it should open that folder.
Can you try this with one of the pictures that you see in your Photos tab but not in your Camera Uploads, just to confirm if that's indeed the path the file is saved to?
As for the option to move content, you can't do this in batch when using the Photos tab. It was our understanding that you were trying to do this while in your Camera Uploads folder. You should be able to do this when you're in the relevant folder the files are in.
