Hi there,
as developer of Dropshare (https://dropshare.app), I'd love to see an API for Dropbox Transfer (https://dropbox.com/transfer). Any plans for that?
Dropbox doesn't currently offer an API for the Dropbox Transfer feature, but I'll pass this along as a feature request. I can't promise if or when that might be implemented though.
Would love to see this feature - in my workflow I'm often generating transfer links for a large number of folders, would love to be able to automate this with an API.
Just want to say that this will also be highly useful for email client integrations, e.g. Thunderbird Filelink.
Given we are seeing spammers using Dropbox Transfer to host phishing files, API access shouldnt be an afterthought on a service like this.
We use the existing Dropbox API to check Dropbox files before releasing to end users.
Its not possible to do this with Transfer links so we are contemplating bouncing all emails that contain Dropbox transfer links.
Thanks for the feedback! I'm passing this along to the team.
Hi @Greg, any word on this? We could really use this feature as WeTransfer has officially deprecated their API.
@homedeck No, unfortunately I don't have any news on this request.
@Greg-DB are there any engineers from the Transfer team on these forums? If not, I'll highly recommend you all consider it. Unity, the game engine, has done it with success. We, users, are able to discuss in real time with the engineers responsible for implementing and managing features. This indirection where you have to forward issues seems incredibly inefficient, given that you only seems to send them things and they never (ever) seem to get back to us with any information. It's been a month and no word on this.
@homedeck We don't currently have Dropbox product engineers for any particular product, such as Transfer, on the forum here, but thanks for the idea and feedback! I'll float this with them, as well as check in with them regarding the request itself.
Hey @Greg-DB any word on this? Can you connect us directly to your engineering team? We're an image editing company and we could really use the Transfer feature. We currently use WeTransfer but we want to migrate away from them. If an engineer can reach out to us directly at <email redacted> that would be great.
@homedeck No, unfortunately I still don't have an update on this feature request. I'll follow up here if/when I do. I can't connect you directly with engineering, but if you have any questions or issues regarding the Dropbox API you can always open an API ticket here.
I'd also love to see support for Dropbox Transfer API
Hi @Greg-DB ,
Last word on this was a year ago. We would also love to see Transfer incorporated in the API. I'm guessing it would take no more than 5 days work for a good software engineer plus x days of bureaucratic hassle 🤔
How do we get it moved up the list?
@horton Thanks for the note! I don't have an update on this, but I've added your post to the request.
+1 person dreaming of Transfer API
@Ekaterina-T Thanks for the feedback!
Greg,Unfortunately it seems Transfer Links are becoming more common across our clients over shared links. Our platform is currently not able to ingest transfer links via the existing API. This is growing support issue for us. Please provide an update about this topic.
@spotloader2 I don't have any news on this feature request unfortunately. I'll follow up if/when I do.
For future reference, it is not necessary to post the same message in multiple threads.
@tjosten Unfortunately I still don't have any news or plans to share on this request.
Any news on this? It would be super helpful!
It’s been 6 years now. I guess it’s safe to assume that it will never happen.
@jjonathan and @tjosten At this time, I don’t have any updates or plans to share regarding this request. However, the feature request still remains open, though I can’t promise if or when it might be implemented.
