When trying to login problem, problem show‘s up, Dropbox send a 6-diget code to my email account, this never received
Sorry to hear this, @xleong91.
In the past, did you have the Dropbox desktop app installed on any of your computers perhaps? If yes, please check if the local Dropbox folder is still available there. You may be able to access your Dropbox files this way, and transfer them to another location on your device.
Hi @xleong91, I’d recommend getting in contact with our support team directly to look into this matter in more detail.
You can do this by opening an incognito/private browsing window, while not signed into your account, and accessing this link.
From there you should be able to contact support. Make sure to enter an email address that you can access, followed by your details.
Hi,
I am not receiving the 6 code security code in my email, not in spam or any other folder.
This is a paid subscription but I cant even get support since i'm signed out of the account and my computer died!
please help me resolve this, i added no-reply to address list, trusted etc, its not being shot down by email provider
Thanks
Hi @apeleg2, I'd be happy to help!
Can I reach out to you, and send you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this?
Keep me posted!
please reach out!
How can we communicate?
Amos
Hi @apeleg2, I just sent you an email, I'll see you there!
I am part of a group of people who have been sharing stuff via Dropbox. One of our group set up a Dropbox account about 3 years ago for the group, but about 2 years ago the sharing of stuff was put on hold as the group focussed on other stuff.
We now want to reactivate our Dropbox, but the email she used no longer exists....In an effort to get around this I set up the same email address on my personal Microsoft account, but when I've requested the authentication code it doesn't come through to this replica email address. I've checked Spam and it's not there either.
How can we get back into our Dropbox account? There's a lot of stuff there, and as a group, we are keen to be able to access it and use the Dropbox more actively in the future.
Hey there, @Teddy Boy, how are you today?
First of all, the idea to re-instate the email address was great, and the fact that you can now access it, will help us troubleshoot this.
Have you tried adding the no-reply@dropbox.com email address to your inbox, in order to see if you can receive the email when attempting to sign in again?
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!
I added the email to contacts, no change
Hi @apeleg2, I can see that you responded back to me, I'll get to it in a moment, thank you!
Hi Megan - sorry, I'm not very hot on IT stuff...how would I add the no-reply@dropbox.com email address to my inbox? (and do you mean my normal Inbox, or the Inbox for the replica email I set up to try and get back into Dropbox?)
Megan - are you responding soon, or should I look at this again later? I've added the no-reply email to contacts...tried login again, still no six digit code
Hi - everything has gone quiet on my earlier enquiry.
Is it the middle of the night where you are at the moment?
Is there a better time to try to communicate with Dropbox?
Hi @Teddy Boy, in regards to the replica email that you set up: is it identical to the one that you used in order to access the Dropbox account?
If so, can I reach out to your Community-linked email address, in order for us to have a closer look into this?
Megan - is it safe to post the email on here? Or should I email you direct?
Please don't post your email on a public forum @Teddy Boy.
I just reached out, using your Community-linked email address, I'll see you there!
Hi Megan - any update available? I emailed you some info about the account; is there more than you need?
The silence is DEAFENING....what's happening?
Can I have an update (by email, ideally).
I got your email yesterday and replied within a few minutes...but since then SILENCE.
Hey @Teddy Boy, I just responded back to you.
I am also desperately trying to log into a Dropbox account that I don't access often. It's not sending me the 6 digit code email. I've added no reply to the associated email's contact list. I've also tried changing the password, but it's not sending me that link either. The email associated with that account is receiving other emails just fine. It's not in my "other" folder or spam folder. Anyway I can be helped? I have client files in that dropbox account that I really need to find.
Thank you!
Becca
Hey @Becca123, welcome to our Community!
Great troubleshooting on your end. In this case, can I send you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this?
Let me know more!
Yes please!
Hey @Becca123, I just sent you an email, I'll see you there, Becca!
@Bayu26 wrote:I can't log in to my account, I've lost my mobile number and I've changed phones, and I don't have a backup code number. How can I log back in when I'm being asked for two-factor verification. Please help me
Unfortunately, if you no longer have access to your phone to receive the two-factor verification code and you no longer have your backup codes, it wouldn't be possible to sign in to the account unless you have another active device already signed in to receive the code.
As per a number of other messages of this sort, I cannot log into Dropbox using my primary account because I am receiving neither confirmation codes nor login links. My IT support report that no emails from Dropbox are being received from the mail server, so this is not a situation where it is going into junk or otherwise getting filtered - nothing is coming at all. I'm receiving emails from a bunch of other sources, so there isn't any issue with the email address itself.
Hi @BTCA, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Could you try adding no-reply@dropbox.com to your contacts list and try accessing your account again?
If you notice the same results, can I then send you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this?
Adding contacts or looking in junk folders isn't going to have any effect - no emails from Dropbox have arrived for [removed per Community Guidelines] at the *mail server* in the past week. Our IT support can see emails from Dropbox to other accounts, but nothing to the account I am trying to log into (info@). By all means, please send an email (preferably to the info@ account - I am only borrowing access to the gmail account to make a post here given that I cannot even sign into the community forum with my real account.) If you cc [...] you will reach the IT person looking into this for me.
Hi from me as well, @BTCA!
Unfortunately, we can only reach out to you to the email address that's tied to your Community profile here. If you're having an issue with another Dropbox account, then we can look into this after that.
Is it OK to proceed?
