After unattaching ssd drive almost 20000 files are missing

Hey Guys,

Two devices here, one has an attached SSD where the dropbox is stored. After disconnecting that SSD suddenly 20 000 files were disappeared from my online storage. I have checked the logs, DB says it was deleted on the device this SSD is usually connected to but at the time when the deletion happened - showed by the log - they did not have any physical connection at all. By that time I attached this SSD to another computer where there is no dropbox app installed.

Any ideas?

The timestamp is often when the deletion finishes, so, ignore that, however, the fact is correct. Dropbox isnt intended to be stored on removable media and so when it was disconnected (but Dropbox running) Dropbox has seen that as a deletion of the folders and so replicated it. You can restore via the website. Be careful reattaching drive as it MAY also wipe this
