Unable to change my email address in Dropbox,

Question

it says my email address is already being used, how do I get dropbox to accept my email?

You need to cancel the account that is using the email address.

So, request a reset of the password on the account at www.dropbox.com/forgot
Log in to that account
Go to www.dropbox.com/account and close it.

THEN go back to the original account and change your email.

Or change the email address on that account to something else, which will also free up the original email for use on another account.
