Hi everyone!
There’s a fresh batch of Dropbox updates to explore, from easier collaboration to new ways to bring your files into the AI tools you already use.
Dropbox is getting smarter, with new ways to find information, understand your files and get things done, right where your work already lives. There are also some handy updates to collaboration, AI integrations and more. Here’s what’s new, and a few ideas for putting these updates to work.
Just a quick note before we jump in: availability may vary depending on your Dropbox plan, account and device. Some of the features below are available in beta.
Bring your Dropbox files into the AI tools you use
Ever spent ages looking for a file because you couldn’t remember what it was called? Or opened five different documents just to find one piece of information?
The new Dropbox experience brings AI into the place where your files already live, helping you find what you need, understand your content and get things done.
Here are a few things you can try:
- Find files without remembering their names. Describe what you’re looking for, whether that’s a presentation from last month’s meeting or a photo of someone playing tennis.
- Get answers from your files. Ask Dropbox to summarise a project, find important deadlines or pull together information from different documents.
- Give your folders a tidy-up. Ask Dropbox to organise files into folders or rename documents so they’re easier to recognise.
- Get documents ready to share. Bring several files together into one PDF, without having to combine them manually.

Availability and supported actions may vary depending on your plan, account and the AI tool you use.
Work with DocSend content from your AI tools
If you use DocSend, you can connect it to supported AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Microsoft Copilot to find documents, summarise their contents and understand how people are engaging with them. This means less downloading and re-uploading when you need an answer about something you’ve shared.
For data room workflows, your assistant can also help suggest a folder structure and categorise documents, making a collection of files easier to navigate. DocSend’s public announcement lists the connection as available in open beta for Standard, Advanced and Advanced Data Rooms users, with features depending on your plan and existing permissions. Take a look at how DocSend works with AI assistants.
Keep signature requests moving from your AI tools
Dropbox Sign now works through the Dropbox MCP connection too. Once connected to a supported AI assistant, you can ask it to send a document for signature, find an agreement or check who still needs to sign.
You can also send reminders, cancel a pending request and download completed agreements and audit trails. If chasing signatures is a regular part of your week, this could help you handle those follow-ups from the conversation you’re already working in. A little more control when collaborating in Paper
Reviewing a draft in Dropbox Paper? You can now suggest edits directly in the document without changing the original text straight away. The document owner can accept or reject each suggestion, making it easier to work through feedback and agree on the final wording.
Mentions have had a small but useful update too. Mentioning someone no longer automatically gives them access to the document or sends an invitation email. That gives you more control over who you share with, helping avoid accidental invitations while you’re working.
The Dropbox Community Ideas has gotten an Update
Dropbox Community Ideas now has an updated guide that explains how Dropbox Community Ideas works, including how to share a suggestion and what each idea status means.
If there’s something that would make your everyday Dropbox workflow easier, search the Ideas section first. You can vote for an existing suggestion, add a comment explaining how it would help you or post your own idea. You can also follow ideas to get updates when their status changes, so it’s easier to keep track of the suggestions you care about.
And that’s your latest Dropbox round-up! Could any of these updates help with your file tidy-up, document sharing or signature follow-ups? Let us know in the comments 💙
