Long ago i created a dropbox account when i purchased new device. Now i do not remember the email i used. How will i be able to know which email i used? I can recall the keywords of my email.
The only way to find out is to check emails for messages from no-reply@dropbox.com
Dropbox support wont be able to find accounts unless you know the email. Also, please note that unless you logged in within the past 12 months the account would have been deleted for inactivity.
old dropbox files on email can i retrieve them

If you remember your password or still have access to your email address and can reset your password, you can try to sign in to the account. As long as it hasn't been idle for more than a year, it should still exist. If the account has been idle for more than a year then it would have been deleted due to inactivity and cannot be recovered.
So I have an old dropbox account with a lot of files and pictures... unfortunately, I haven't logged in to this account for a long time and it was used to store pictures. Now that I am trying to go in to access that account (I have the email and password)... BUT I do not have the same phone number AND the devices that used to be connected to that account... so I am unable to get past the 2 step verification to access my files.
I have a secondary empty dropbox that I paid for JUST so I could contact support as there is no help for FREE people. Disappointing.
Has anyone had this issue? Please help! Thanks in advance! (I have emailed support as well)
Hi @jenboyd85
A few issues here.... how long ago did you last log in? Accounts not accessed for over 12 months are removed and all content deleted - they send multiple emails saying they are doing this.
The second one is there is no way at all to circumvent the 2FA systems except by using the emergency recovery codes you are given when setting up the account. If you do not have them then the account is lost and Dropbox will not reset it
I dont think that is possible, however, you'll need to contact support at www.dropbox.com/support
OR try searching your emails for messages from no-reply@dropbox.com - as you have to validate the change of email so you'll have a confirmation of it
