Hello,
I am trying to reconcile the storage usage on a Dropbox Basic account with a 2 GB limit.
Dropbox currently shows approximately:
- Shared files: 2 GB
- Standard files: 1.6 MB
- Backup: 0
- Replay: 0
- Unused space: approximately 15.7 MB
However, I have manually checked the actual sizes of all joined shared folders visible in the account. They total only approximately 535 MB.
I also reviewed the Shared section. Three folders were marked “You haven’t joined this folder,” so they should not count toward storage. I removed one of the unjoined folders, with no change to the reported storage usage.
This leaves approximately 1.45 GB of storage usage unexplained.
Can dropbox provide a folder-by-folder reconciliation of what Dropbox is counting under “Shared files” and correct the storage usage on the account if, as the visible data indicates, the quota calculation is incorrect.
At present, the account is effectively being treated as full despite containing only about one quarter of the stated 2 GB allowance in joined shared folders.
Thank you.
