Problem solved: Switching to the classic integration fixed it
I had a problem with Dropbox on my iPad pro since last update (iPadOS 27.0.1, Dropbox version 494.3.2).
The Dropbox app showed all my folders and files correctly, but when I accessed Dropbox through Apple’s Files app, most of my folders and subfolders were missing. This also meant I couldn’t attach some files to emails in Mail.
Restarting the iPad didn’t help. In Files, I also saw the sign “Syncing with Dropbox is paused”.
Solution:
- Open Dropbox on the iPad.
- Go to Account → Settings → Files.
- Select “Convert all to classic integration” and confirm the change.
- Open Files and check Dropbox again.
After switching to the classic integration, the “Syncing with Dropbox is paused” message disappeared, all my folders and files became visible again, and I was able to attach files to emails in Mail.
In my case, this solved the problem without clearing the cache or reinstalling Dropbox.
I hope this helps other iPad users experiencing the same issue.
