How can I upload files to my client's folder, without paying for extra space?

Hello,

I have a basic dropbox account that I never use. However I have a client that made a folder for me to download files. However I am trying to upload folders to his account/folder and it won't let me because it says I don't have enough space.

How can I get around this as I don't want to pay for an account as I never use dropbox?

Anything you upload to a shared folder counts toward your own Dropbox storage, even if your client owns the folder. On a Basic account, there isn’t a way around this, but your client can use a file request or shared link so you can send files without using your space.
