so today is the day that I would not need a pin to open the vault folder -- but 21 hours into 3/4/2025 I still need a pin to open the vault --- when?
Hey @Frank P E. thanks for posting here!
It's true that starting March 4, 2025, your Dropbox Vault folder will be automatically converted into a regular Dropbox folder that doesn’t require a PIN to open.
I believe this process should take a few hours to apply to all of the customers using this feature, but I can't give you a precise timeline. Just wanted to check if the same behavior remains at the moment.
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!
Ok --- it is now 3/5/2025 there is NO change --- I still need the pin to open the vault folder and support was no help in this this issue
Sorry to hear this persists for you @Frank P E.
Could you send us your ticket ID for your support interaction so that we can look it up in our system too?
While we're at it, may I ask if you had tried this link before yesterday?
Hello – thanks for your reply — I already did that yesterday with 2 tickets 24843229 and 24840521. In each case I stated “clearly” stated that I still need a pin to open the vault folder. It is not clear to me why a “screen shot” was needed to answer that question. The questions that were asked to me in the chat session made no sense to get a simple question when the conversion would happen. One agent asked me to update my pin? Why? That is like saying “it looks like it will rain” so “we better gas up the snow blower”
Generally, at least for me, chat support seems to obfuscate the issue at hand and would ask question that are irrelevant to the issue — and screen shots are note the end-all to an issue
as of this post, I still need a pin to open the vault folder
day 2 -- still need a pin to open the vault
I was given a url to to the conversion myself which I did
Hey @Frank P E., is there any update on the situation as of today?
yes --- I was able to move the files to a safe location
Happy to hear that, Frank.
Let us know if you need anything else!
