How can I save 4 TB of files to my computer, if I only have a Basic account?

I am a novice here so apologies if i gave dumb questions....

I have a free, Basic Dropbox account which offers 2GB free storage.

Please can you explain what happens when i want to download 4TB of data from my friends link?

He sent me an email with a button icon labelled "Add to Dropbox"

When I click on it...
A banner flashes up saying i dont have enough data space and should upgrade...this banner then disappears and i then have 2 options:

"JOIN Folder"
or
"PREVIEW This Folder"

I click on PREVIEW...

At this point there are 3 options along top of screen:
1. Join Folder
2. Copy to Dropbox
3. Save to device

If i want to stay Basic (no upgrade) - how can i SAVE all the 4TB of data (spread out in about 300 folders) to my PC/device

It looks like the SAVE TO DEVICE doesnt work for entire folders... only for individual files/docs....

I need to SAVE the top folder - else i would have to go into many 1000s of files one by one

Hi there, @fabanmoon, thanks for posting to our Community.

If you'd like to save this folder to your computer and only have a Dropbox Basic account, the only way would be to choose the "save to device" option.

However, if it's 4 TB, you definitely won't be able to download everything at once.

When it comes to downloading from the website, you can only download a folder, if it’s less than 250 GB (uncompressed) and has fewer than 10,000 total files.

Also, files within deeply nested folders still count toward the 10,000 file limit.

So, you'd have to download the files in batches of maximum 250GB.

I hope this clarifies things, but let me know if you have any questions.
