Is there a way to do a check up for viruses in the account?

I never use dropbox in public wifis, but today I had to. I had to upload files to a folder and share it. I was at starbucks on their public wifi. Using an iphone. I sent the link to the folder via email. The person who got my email recieved it with a warning!!

“[Error virus] email subject”

This was on the email subject, so I panicked and disconnected from the wifi. So now I’m left with questions.

1 can we perform a checkup? For viruses

2 isn’t the app supposed to be safe like HTTPS websites

3 why would there be a warning for viruses if the email doesn’t actually contain files, it just contains the link?

4 is it a good idea to use dropbox rewind to go back to the day before?

I'm thinking that this warning might be related to their email provider, could that be the case?

It definitely doesn't seem like this is an issue with your link, especially since they tried to open it without an issue, and download the content.

Could their email provider be warning them like so with every link in the body of the email? Or is it possible that they have any relevant security or antivirus plug-ins?

The email came from me actually. Here’s a screen shot of the email I sent, and how the person recieved it. They recieved it with that “virus error” in the subject. 
The only thing in the email is the link that I manually pasted. The link worked as expected and the person opened the link on a browser and downloaded the files from the shared folders. 
The only weird think is that warning they got.

Hey @oceanside22, let's see what we can find about this together!

The first thing you need to do is check that your files are accessible, and preview without an issue.

Another thing to keep in mind is any odd file names, or extensions on your existing files. Actually, it'd help if you used the Events page to review your most recent file activity. If you notice anything, feel free to grab a screenshot!

Other than that, you could also check your Security page and Connected apps online.

As for your third point, that's actually something I wanted to ask as well. Do you happen to have a screenshot of the email the other person received on their end? (Just make sure no personal info is shown there). It would help us get a clear visual, and to also check if the email came from an official Dropbox domain.

Lastly, you could try to Rewind your account if you believe that it was indeed infected by malware, however we can always help you by doing it on our end.
