in our dropbox for business we have multiple folders and subfolders for various vendors,vehicles, customers, inventory and shopping. Sometimes the shortcuts that we put in folders that will bring you to the file that is in the vendor folder will stop working. We have been restructijng our dropbox and would like to implement more tags etc to prevent the same files being in 8 places etc. We use dropbox links to certain videos/certs/receipts etc and put them on our excel sheets.
I need to simplify, and make sure links/shortcuts stay working and what not to do so we dont loose data
Questions-
1.) If i use a Dropbox shortcut will it stop working if the file name changes?
2.) Dropbox weblinks - any additional info on using these to be more helpful.
3.) Dropbox links on spreadsheets
-will they still work if the file name changes?
-folder updates/changes? (Moved to new folder, sub folder name changed or moved items to new subfolder named as something else then deleted old sub folder where it previously lived.
-changes made to doc/spreadsheet then resaved as same file name in same destination?
Id appreciate any other helpful tips and what not to do
we also want to add tags to certain folders/items but can't necessarily use the auto folder solutions as it may move/rearrange/rename docs it should not adjust.
Any tips on altering/adding tags mass files to either add a Job # tag, tags for vehicles (8 total) for maintenance/repairs/parts, training certs, vendors that we purchase from (various items PPE, Truck Parts, Supplies for office / shop, tools)
