Hello,
I access my dropbox account on multiple different devices via web browser. I have disabled two-step verification on the account, but it is still asking for a 6 digit code when logging in. Would anyone be able to assist?
Best
Hey @bryanj, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Can you try to enable two-step verification and then disable it again, to see if that helps?
Let me know how it goes and we'll go from there.

Hi @Intrainfo
Basically, this one-time security code email is sent to you, if Dropbox detects a "suspicious" sign-in attempt, but it's not related to two-step verification.
You can read more about it here.
At the moment, there's no way to disable this email I'm afraid.
2-step verification is toggled off, yet I still have to receive 6 digit code to sign-in.
I have it toggled off because I DO NOT want a 2 step verification!
Tell me how to fix it. I'm paying $120 a year for crying out loud!

If you have two-step verification turned off, then what you're seeing isn't a two-step code. It's a one-time security code and Dropbox will request them whenever you sign in from a device they don't recognize or if Dropbox detects a suspicious sign-in attempt. There's no way to disable that function.
Thanks, I get it.
So, how do I get them to recognize my laptop, which I am hot-spotting from my phone? This is the problem it appears.

You could try checking the Remember me option when signing in, but that's not really secure. Otherwise, there is no option to force it. It's likely the fact that you're on a hot spot, with an ever changing IP address and location that's causing this.
Same here, I could effing SCREAM!! The answer from Dropbox is useless (sorry, no offence intended). Posts by Mark and Rich are much more helpful. I have been using the same Mac since 2017, though. My iPhone is connected too. Two factor ID is turned off! I am not sure, but could adding a new device or using other websites and apps with Dropbox integration "trigger" the 6-figure code prompt?
