Thanks for using Dropbox! The desktop client is regularly updated with many improvements and fixes including the following:

Features in this update:

For those migrating to Dropbox support for macOS, a symlink will be created from your Dropbox folder's previous location to its new location at ~/Library/CloudStorage.
Right-click options are now available for all items in the Activity tab of the taskbar (Windows) and menu bar (Mac).

Fixes in this update:

Issues preventing some users from being able to make files online-only have been resolved.
Issues causing the Dropbox folder to appear with an invalid display name in File Explorer have been resolved.
A bug preventing some Backup users from seeing filename issues in the sync errors window has been resolved.
Improvements have been made to package files syncing on macOS.

Two new installations of this version and no ~/Library/CloudStorage movement or files there.

You can 'force' Dropbox Folder to go to a new location.

Go to the Sync tab here https://help.dropbox.com/account-settings/change-preferences#sync and input the new location for the Folder.

Yes, I know, but that is not what I mean. It is supposed that moving to that folder is mandatory for Mojave and next to have the files on demand working in those macOS.

Dropbox currently implements the Finder extension, but not the full features. It is supposed that this version will move the files into that folder in order to enable files on demand (or whatever they are called).

It would be really great if a Dropboxer could explain a bit here. Is it supposed to end up in CloudStorage by itself, or should we manually move the files there?

It sure sounds like the files should move when upgrading, otherwise we as it managers get loads of work 🙂
