Receiving this error from chrome whenever i open chrome:
Hey folks ( @office11 & @chriscsullivan)!
Thanks for reporting this problem here. Without you, other customers could've experienced the same issue.
I have already relayed all the details of your problem to our engineering team. From this point onwards, they’ll evaluate the problem and work toward a solution.
I can’t say exactly how long this will take, however, I’ll keep a close watch on the team’s progress and I will let you know more info as soon as I have an update.
Thanks for your diligence and patience in regards to this matter and enjoy the rest of your day!
"I merged your thread with this post" .... thank you but which post?! no links to any post ....
oh god! O_oTy.Sorry @jay.Thank you all.I'll wait for Chrome 69 or Chrome 72 or .... I don't know which version .... or I will uninstall Dropbox from this PC.Grunt.
I recently began getting an error message from Chrome indicating that dropbox is incompantible and wanting me to update the Dropbox program. When I attempt to update from the same error message screen- the only option is to uninstall. I have looked for an update - but dropbox is supposedly "automatically updating". I have tried the tips to identify what version of dropbox is running - but none have worked so I don't even know what version is currently operating and therefore whether it is up to date. I don't want to uninstall and reinstall for fear of losing files shared with others.
Hey there @office11 - sorry to hear this.
As we've been getting such reports for a while now, I moved your post here to keep things neat.
Take a look at what other users posted about this Chrome specific error and if there's anything further I can do from my end to help, please let me know.
In the meantime, have a lovely week ahead!
PS: You can always use another browser other than Chrome till there's a fix rolled out. I know it's not optimal yet I sure hope it helps to some extent.
Unfortunately that is not an option for me as this is my work computer and all our email is setup through google chrome - so it isn't an option not to be using Chrome on a daily basis. Therefore the incompatability is a huge problem as it is making Chrome unstable.
Sorry about this @office11 - have you updated your Chrome recently ?
I am actually updating mine to v.69 which should resolve this issue as my colleague Alexandra4 mentioned in the a previous reply (you'll find her post in the second page of this very thread).
I am putting it here for your convenience.
I know it's not optimal yet I sure hope this helps to some extent.
my computer is set to do all updates automatically-so presumably it is already the most current version of Chrome. I have been closing the error message and starting new tabs, but very soon the whole thing becomes unstable and closes. Very frustrating. I don't think that I want to be part of any beta testing group - I am not particularly tech-savy and am having enough problems with this as it is - I don't need extra problems from becoming a guinea pig for a software rollout.
I understand @office11 - I'm also extra wary when it comes to software updates, especially betas which are experimental builds and can lead to all kind of deficiencies.
69.0.3497.100
This is indeed the latest stable version of Chrome @office11 - are you still having this issue?
Have your cleared your cache recently? Does this also persist on incognito for you (just to eliminate other factors such as browser extensions or plugins etc.)?
Thanks for your patience and cooperation on this one as well.
I didn't get the error message this morning - so maybe the chrome version is a recent update on my computer. I am cautiously optomistic that this issue is resolved. If the problem returns, I will try the "incognito" suggestion. Thank you.
Add another Dropbox Pro paying user to the mix here.
This issue is crashing chrome and my computer on nearly a daily basis.
Given that chrome and dropbox are two of the most regularly used applications for my work, giving up one is not really a viable option.
Dropbox, you've got to do something about this before you start losing clients. The google empire is too large and integrated into all of our lives to ditch it.
Please resolve before I convert all my documents to Drive and find an alternative cloud storage system.
Chrome 69.0.3497.100

Yesterday was the second time as Chrome stopped working and I had to restart my lap top during a meeting with a client. I have Chrome Version 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (64-bit), so it's latest version yet this happens again. More of my friends have told me they have experience the same thing.I can't stop using Chrome, so I'm thinking to remove Dropbox until I learn here that the issue has been resolved. It costs my work too much if this happens all the time. I hope you'll fix it soon.
