I can't open Dropbox links that my coworkers shared with me in Finder

I haven't been able to open dropbox links that my coworkers share with me on our shared dropbox team account in the finder for several days now. The option just disappeared. Tried all the usual stuff, resetting dropbox, uninstalling/reinstalling, logging out/logging back in, restarting computer, using a different browser, relaunching finder, etc. Anyone else had trouble with this?

Screenshot attached of what I'm seeing now. Usually it would say "Open in Finder" after Quick View. Very annoying because we have thousands of files and searching takes forever when before I could just pop the link open in a new finder window.

Downloading the links or other work arounds won't work for me since these are working design files that we all collaborate on.

Thanks for posting on our forum, @marak, and for your screenshot!

Since you’ve already tried a bunch of troubleshooting steps on your end, we can check a few other things together.

First off, are the files/folders those links were created for synced to your desktop app?

You can also go to your Dropbox settings online and check if the “Open share links on desktop” option is currently enabled.

Finally, I’d like the syncing status and app version of your desktop app.

Give me a nudge, once you have more updates.

Thanks for that. It looks like your desktop app is running the beta app version at the moment, which is experimental.

Can you try switching to the stable app version next, as a test? To do this, you first need to turn off early releases here, and then click on this link.

Other than that, can you clarify if the folders/files in question are synced to your Dropbox app?

I have now tried updating, restarting, etc and it still persists. Any other ideas??

Most of them are online-only files but some are offline (I download them if I need to work on them)

And what type and how large are the files in question? Does this happen for all of your files?

You mentioned a different browser, but have you tried a private browsing window (or incognito) as well?

Size of files depends but most are under 1GB (20-30 mb usually, maybe more, maybe less). This happens for EVERY file. Ones that are offline, ones that are online only, every single file. I have tried incognito mode. I have tried other browsers and done private browsing with those as well. Nothing is working

At this point, the next step would be an advanced reinstall.

I'd also recommend ensuring that this is not caused by a 3rd party app running on your computer which might be monitoring your files, like an antivirus, a backup or syncing service etc.

That said, I was also able to locate your ticket in our system and passed your comments on to the agent who's handling your case so that they're up to date and they should be getting back to you soon.

I have finished the advanced reinstall (twice), updated my computer (reinstalled once before updating and once after) and still am unable to open links from the browser in the finder. Everything else works as expected. I believe this is a dropbox issue, there's nothing else I can do at this point
