All my folders are there but my files are all missing. How to restore?

I am trying to consolidate my storage options.

Hadn't had access to dropbox for over 12 months. Finally got a new PC and NAS and logged on to dropbox. First thing I saw was my subscription had expired and them telling me I had run out of space using up 8.8GB of the 2GB limit.

I went to pull down some folders to free up space, however I can see the folders, but I cannot see any files?

To start, you mentioned that you haven't accessed your Dropbox account for more than 12 months, which means your account was most likely closed due to inactivity.

Can you check your deleted files page, and your events page to see if your files appear there? However, keep in mind that if the account was closed and reopened, or if the files were deleted a long time ago they might not appear there.

To ensure we've explored every option, please also have a look at your backups page and your sharing page as well for the missing files.

Just a quick heads-up: you also mentioned that your subscription ended, and your account was downgraded. When did that happen? I ask because if your files were removed because your account went over its allocated space, then you should have received several email notifications warning you about this. Is your case related to that by any chance?
