I accidentally emptied my Deleted files. Can I restore them, if I'm on a Dropbox Basic plan?

Hi Support Team,

I accidentally emptied my Deleted Files trash and permanently lost critical files/folders from my account.

* Account Email: [removed per Community Guidelines]
* Approximate date/time of deletion: August 23, 2026
* File details: Archive/Data files (~10GB)

As I am on a Basic plan, I cannot open an email support ticket directly. Could a Moderator please help open a support ticket or check if my account event log can be restored to a state before this deletion?

Hi Nancy,

Here are the details:

* Steps taken: I deleted the folders directly to free up Dropbox storage space, and then I went into the "Deleted files" (trash) section and permanently deleted them from there as well.
* File contents: All the deleted folders contained irreplaceable family photos.
* Events page: I checked my Events page, but I couldn't restore or recover the files from there.

Is there any possibility you could help me recover these permanently deleted folders from your end?

Can you describe to me the exact steps that you took to delete those Dropbox files?

Did you also visit your Events page and you were unable to restore them from there?
