My files disappeared after moving them to another subfolder.

I was using the website and created subfolders in the Camera Uploads folder. I selected the images/videos and used the move function to select which subfolder it would go to. After moving the files, I noticed that one of the folders was empty. I checked the total number of files between the subfolders and I'm missing all the files that I uploaded in the "empty" folder. Is there a way to retrieve this? I don't mind redoing everything if that's what needs to happen.

Could you check the events page to see if the files show up there during the move process?

Otherwise, the files might appear in the deleted files page if they were deleted somehow.

Let me know what you see there, as this might help in recovering the files.

I do see in the events that there were deleted files, but I don't see the files in the deleted folder.

Any other recommendations?

Can you copy and paste a full screenshot of what you see right after opening your Events page?

Thanks for that! If each deletion appears as a separate event, I’m afraid that it won’t be possible to restore them in bulk from the Events page, or filter the deleted items.

However, can you please clarify whether you’ve double checked the rest of the subfolders you created? I’m wondering if the missing files were accidentally moved there instead (in which case, you can move them again to the correct folder).

When moving files from one Dropbox location to another, this is registered as a deletion from the original folder and as an addition to the new one, which would explain what you're seeing at your Events page.

That's what I'm afraid of. I'll have to restore them individually.

I did check the other folders. I know the total # of files and it's not adding up.

Can you try searching for the deleted file names online to see if you can locate them at a different path than the one you were expecting? I'm suggesting this in case they were moved elsewhere.
