Will I lose my promotional space when upgrading my account?

I’m currently on a free plan with 22.38 GB of space. Recently, I was offered the 50 GB Basic Extra plan for 23.88 EUR per year. My question is: if I purchase this plan, will I lose the promotional space I already have on my free account and be left with only 50 GB, or will the 50 GB be added on top of my existing 22.38 GB?

When I clicked through to purchase, I saw information suggesting that I would receive only 50 GB, which makes me think I might lose my current extra space. Can someone confirm how this works?

You typically keep your bonus space in addition to what's included in your new plan. You currently have 22.38 GB total? If so, subtract 3 GB for the space included with the free Basic plan, then add 50 GB for the new plan. You'll likely ended up with 69.38 GB.

For example, I had a free Basic account with 70 GB of bonus space (73 GB total). When I upgraded to Professional I had 2.07 TB, and then 3.07 TB when I upgraded again to Essentials.
