On a project this month, a client with an Advanced team plan on Dropbox needed to share large project folder structures with me so that I could work in their ecosystem. For security reasons, their IT team would not let me join as a seat on their Dropbox plan.
As a freelancer, I am a one-person team, I only need a single license. However, I sometimes need to process or be shared into large folders that may exceed 3-4TB that a single user is allowed. I think there should be a plan that allows a single user to go beyond 3-4TB without having to purchase a team plan that requires a minimum of three licenses.
Because of the three license minimum to work in any large or professional capacity, it doesn't make sense for someone like me to use Dropbox, however if this trivial requirement was removed I would be interested in trying it out. At the moment, these limits have caused nothing but headaches between me and my client. Hoping this gets updated in the future, but until then I will just ask my client to un-share folders once I hit the 3-4TB limit, rather than pay for extra space with licenses I will never use.
