Logged in and saw a 'Pending Deletion' message containing two of my files - will they get deleted?

Hello,

I logged in to find a message entitled, "2025-06-13 Content Shared From T Team Pending Deletion"

The message contained 2 items, both names of two of my Dropbox files. I checked and I'm only using 631GB of my 2TB plan. Are these two files actually going to be deleted? How can I keep that from happening?

You need to check the email that you will have got on the 13th of June telling you about the deletion. That will tell you when they are due to be deleted.

Alternatively you can moge the files out of the directory they are in and in to one of your own.

This usually happens because the folder they are in is owned by somebody who is over quota or hasnt paid. So, those files will be deleted regardless of YOUR quota status. Therefore to save the files from deletion copy to a different location in your Dropbox out of that share.

Were these files shared with you by someone on a Dropbox for teams account?

It could be that the team that shared these files with you, is going to be deleted, but just to be sure, can you please send us a screenshot of the message so that we can investigate a bit further?

These files are both many years old and haven't been accessed or involved in anything - but that shouldn't matter when I'm current on the account and am only using a fraction of my current storage, right?
