Checking in about Microsoft co-authoring

It’s been just over a month since we released news of Microsoft-coauthoring rolling out to business teams, so time to check in!

In a perfect world, if your team met the system requirements below, you and your fellow users are making collaborative edits on Microsoft files that automatically save to Dropbox without the risk of conflicted copies.

Office 365 Business license
Dropbox Standard, Advanced, Business, Business Plus, or Enterprise
Windows 10/11 or MacOS 12.5 or later

I love the idea of this and I tried implementing it right away but it was a disaster for us and I had to remove it.

It's been a while now so I don't recall all the details but I think we had problems with VBA working correctly, there were security issues and problems with files in both Excel and Word.

I think it also created a problem with an Add-in that pulls data from our CRM into some Word forms.

I was in contact with DB support at the time but after many wasted hours, I just gave up.

@Jeff B.63 , I understand it's been a while but if you can remember any details regarding the issues you were having we could look into this for you.

In general, depending on security settings, macros functionality may be dependent on the addition of https://wopi.dropbox.com as a trusted site within Windows.

This additional trusted site can affect Add-ins as well.

For some reason, the web version of Word doesn't handle our report page layout cleanly, so we've not used this feature from within Dropbox. If Word worked OK, then we'd give it a spin.
