I made a new folder with the same name, now my files are missing

Hi guys 

 

I just made a new folder with the same name as an existing folder with imortant files on my macbook syncronised with Dropbox. Now the folder is empty and i cannot see the files among the deleted files on the dropbox page. 

 

Can anybody help me ?
