Trying to use a template to send a document out for signing, but it's giving me this error. How do I fix this random error?
"The following error was encountered: Your request contains errors and/or invalid data! Please try again."
Hi @areiss954, and thanks for posting about this here.
Do you mind uploading a screenshot of the error message you keep receiving, so that I can also have a visual?
Is this the first time you’re experiencing this issue, or has it occurred in the past, as well?
Keep me updated!
I have never experienced this before.
Hi @areiss954, thank you for the screenshot!
Can you try switching to a different browser, and also trying an incognito tab on your current one? Let me know if you notice any difference, thanks!
When I go to www.dropbox.com and follow these steps, it fails:
1) went to www.dropbox.com
2) clicked Signatures on left panel
3) clicked “templates” tab next to “documents”
4) clicked “***” and then chose “use” option to use the only template I have
5) filled in names and email addresses on the left side then clicked next
6) selected default save location which is my Dropbox account and clicked next
7) revied the data and clicked “send for signature”
Received the following error message at the top:
When I go to app.hellosign.com and choose “Sign in with Dropbox” the signing process works properly.
WHY?
Is that what you saw after trying from a different browser, @areiss954?
Can you also try to clear your browser's cache, to see if that helps?
Cache is clear and using EDGE as opposed to CHROME.
Same exact results.
Hi again, @areiss954!
In this case, can we proceed and log a ticket for you instead?
This way, we’ll be able to further investigate this.
yes, please do.
Hi @areiss954, I just sent you an email, I'll see you there!
I am having the same issue now:
Your request contains errors and/or invalid data!
Hey @peterdepaulo! Are you seeing this error when going to your Signatures tab, and selecting a template, as well?
What if you try this via another browser instead?
I see that the staff has responded to this issue but they apparently moved the conversation to email. Why? Shouldn't we all be able to benefit from the solution?
I'm not experiencing this issue and it doesn't make sense that 3 people have posted in this thread about the issue yet there is still no solution posted.
What was the resolution. I have the exact same issue ?
Hi @vairavan1981, sorry to hear about that!
Have you tried using a different browser, or to clear your current browser's cache, and then trying again?
Keep me posted!
Problem:* I can't submit the actual document to sign because of this error. This happened on the signatures page.Resolution for me:
1. Save the document for signatures as a draft.
2. Close everything
3. Soft clear cache
4. Open the draft and resubmit
That worked, but this is still clearly a bug somewhere with state being carried over from a previous form. This is some hidden field getting validated incorrectly on a page that it shouldn't be.
I have the same error, @megan, how do I fix this?
Hey @CJDS80, welcome to our Community!
Do you receive this error when trying to send a signature, or at a different time?
If so, then have you tried refreshing the page and signing the document again?
Another thing I'd try is to use a different web browser altogether. Often, glitches are browser-specific, so you may be hitting a problem in Internet Explorer that you wouldn't run into with Chrome, for instance.
Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!
Did anyone ever find the solution to this problem? I have a template created every time i try to send it for signature it gives me the same error.
Hey @ashantirae12! Is this happening on Dropbox Sign for you, or when using the Signatures tab (while being signed into www.dropbox.com)?
Have you already tried to switch browsers/test this via an incognito window, and if yes, did that seem to help at all?
