Hi,

I've been looking at the dropbox core metadata endpoint. Is there any way to get the user details from the uid, it shows the "Display Name" in the json. I cant see how you can get the users info from the uid.

The API doesn't offer a way to get additional information about other arbitrary users like this. If you need more information about a particular user, you'll need to have them authorize your app and then use the /account/info call with their access token (like you did with /shared_folders for the original user).

I have been sent a link to a file stored in a public dropbox folder. I have substituted "aaaa" and "12345" for the actual file name to conceal the actual file. If someone could provide the instruction or entry into my browser that would get me the most complete metadata info, this is what I am interested in getting. Further, If there is a legend for the link file that give some additional meaning to the elements of string (the individual characters between each of the "/"), that would also be helpful. I am not the file owner. When I type the link file into my browser I see the following metadata: filename, size and modified (7months ago). I am interested in viewing all publicly available data about this file. Are their third party products, like CURL, that will provide more complete information about the dropbox file or can you provide an instruction assuming that the filename is https://www.dropbox.com/sh/e2yh0l0ce37aaaa/12345?dl=0.

The Dropbox API does have an endpoint you can use to get metadata for a shared link:
