I restored my data, but a specific photo folder wasn't restored, why?

Hello, on November 3, 2026 at around 3:55 PM (Paris time), I clicked "Restore" in "Deleted files" (account [Removed as per Community Guidelines]) for several files, including a photo folder called "Préville". No error message appeared, but the files disappeared from "Deleted files" without reappearing in "All files". Storage used shows 0 bytes, searching by name returns nothing, and the Events and Activity pages are empty. Could you please check the status of this restoration and let me know whether the files can be recovered? Thank you.

Hi @alibready77, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

If the events page (which should also show deleted files) and activity page are empty, it could mean that the files were permanently deleted, since that is the only way for files to be removed from the events page.

The events page should also show any restorations made on the account. If it is empty, then this could indicate that the files weren't restored. Are you absolutely certain that you clicked the option to restore files, and not permanently delete files?

Additional details: I deleted these files today (Nov 3, 2026) while sorting my account, so well within the 30-day recovery period. I did not use “Permanently delete”. I only clicked “Restore” in “Deleted files”, and the files vanished from that list without reappearing anywhere. I only have one Dropbox account and no other device with a synced copy, so I’m relying on server-side recovery. Thank you for any help.
