Is there any plan that is even cheaper than the normal basic plan of 2000 tb? It happens that I want to have more storage space, but the cheapest plan is still quite expensive.
Is there an alternative storage plan, which is cheaper?
Hello, there is not any smaller plan than 1TB (1000 GB). You can only buy 1TB plan or others - like 2 TB, 3 TB or infinitive. Please remember that you can alwayes extend your free space by referral links or others special tasks.
Hi @wdshieh, if your account is eligible, you could upgrade to the Dropbox Basic Extra plan, which offers all the existing features on Basic, but with 50 GB of quota.

Unfortunately the plans you mentioned is not availble in my region, which is the country Malaysia. Do you have any other alternative? I am paying for storage that I don't use, and I intend not to fully use it until 2TB. my current usage (just for company files) is only 30GB. Hope you can help advise other options or a discount for my subscription. Thanks in advance.

I'm afraid this is our only alternative at the moment.
You can always utilize referrals and earn up to 16 GB on a Basic plan, and up to 32 GB on a Plus plan, but I understand that this isn't exactly what you're looking for.

Hi, I think the financial and storage distance between the the Basic version with 2GB and the next version the Abo Plus with 2TB is to big. There should be version in between, which make more sense financially and storage wise!

Hi, I was a user with a Dropbox Plus plan for a few years, but I do not need the extra space anymore. But the options that are available on this plan like the 30 days to restore deleted files and being able to connect all my devices are still quite interesting.
So, it would be nice to be able to get a paid subscription with less space (ex: 100 Gb) and still have access to the same options offered with the Plus plan. Since this is not currently available, I will have to cancel my subscription, hoping that a plan that match my needs becomes available in the future.

Jay - the link in this thread is "no longer available", but I have exactly the same question. I can find no options available to purchase a smaller footprint plan when I renew again at the end of this month. A chat link or phone number would help if necessary.

The only reason I haven't got a paid Dropbox subscription is that they don't have smaller cheaper options. The only reason I do have an iCloud subscription is because they do. Why can't Dropbox do this?

Apple and other cloud service providers such as Google and Microsoft have other revenue streams that they use to subsidize their cloud offerings. They use their cloud services as either an incentives for other products or as a low cost way to get people into their eco systems so they buy other products. Apple has their hardware business, Microsoft their software business, and Google their ad revenue. All of that offsets the costs of their cloud storage systems. Dropbox has… Dropbox.
That's not to say that Dropbox doesn't have smaller plans. They have trialed them many, many times in the past (and not always to success). Often these smaller plans are limited to specific regions or other eligibility terms. For instance, there's a 50GB Basic Extra plan that's often comes available. If the plan is still available and you meet eligibility, it would be available to you at this link.
There are no plans below 2TB on that link. That is why I posted the OP.
Then either the smaller plan is no longer available, or you don't meet the eligibility requirements for it.
We use ~70Gb. So.. way more than 2Gb (free account), but also waaaaay less than 2Tb.
So is there a better plan that we can pay for but save some money ??
2Tb is massive overkill at the moment.
No there isnt. All the plans available to you are the ones you see on the upgrade screen.
