Hi everyone,
I need help urgently. My Dropbox account was disabled out of nowhere and all of my work files are stored in it. This is affecting my ability to work, so I'm trying every channel I can to get this resolved.
Here is exactly what happened, in order:
I used this account actively every single day. Then suddenly I got logged out of all my devices at the same time. When I try to log in with my correct password, it says the password is wrong. When I try "Forgot password" to reset it, it says "Sorry, this account is disabled." On top of that, I received a legitimate email from no-reply@dropbox.com confirming that my Dropbox Family plan was cancelled, even though I never cancelled anything. I was the admin of that plan.
I have already ruled out the common causes. It was not inactivity, because I used it daily. I had no content that violates the Terms of Service. My email is secured and I still have full access to it, and I never received any "password changed" alert, so my password does not appear to have been changed by anyone. I also had two factor authentication enabled through Google Authenticator, and the app still generates codes for the account. As far as I can tell, this looks like something on Dropbox's side, possibly an automated flag or a bug, that disabled my account without warning.
I have already submitted a support request through the "Disabled account" option and I am waiting for a reply, but given that my work depends on these files, I cannot afford to wait long.
What I am asking:
Has anyone experienced this same situation, an active account suddenly disabled together with an unexpected plan cancellation, and if so, what caused it and how was it resolved? And is there any way a moderator can help escalate this or point me to the fastest path to get my account reviewed?
My files are safe inside the account as far as I know, I just cannot reach them. Any help, guidance, or shared experience would genuinely make a difference right now. Thank you.
