How can I restore an important folder that was deleted from Dropbox?

I am waking up to find that a VERY IMPORTANT folder has been deleted from my dropbox. I have to assume it was operator error, although I have no idea how or why that happened. I was unaware of the dropbox backup feature, which I will begin using immediately. In the meantime, is there ANY WAY with dropbox's help that those files can be recovered.

Thank you and THANK GOD. Everything was hiding in the "deleted folder." Thanks for the pro tip. That just saved me a LOT of work.

Now I gotta go figure out the backups 🙂

Welcome back to our forum, @jw83876.

Is the folder you’re referring to shared with someone else? Or is it a personal folder you had stored on your Dropbox account?

Are you able to see this folder at your Deleted files and/or Events page and restore it from there?

As for Dropbox backup, this is a feature that you can use to create backups of folders/files stored in the Home folder of your local computer; it doesn’t create an additional backup of the folders/files you have already saved on Dropbox.

Let me know more info, and we’ll go from there.

Yes, I see you now have an integrated backup feature and I will be using that. Unfortunately, that's moving forward, and right now I have to deal with something that happened in the past.

Are you talking about a shared folder, by any chance? While you're at it, can you also take a look at your sharing tab to let me know if the folder is there?

Also, do you happen to know when the folder was deleted?
