Good morning, my email address that I use to access my account has been hacked and I have not activated the 2-factor protection. How can I try to recover my account?
I'm really sorry to hear about this, @darioi.
Did the email or password on your Dropbox account change as well? Are you able to sign in to it?
Also, were you able to secure your email account? This is the first thing you'd need to do.
You can find very useful info in this article from our Help Center as well.
Let me know how it goes.
The email has remained the same but I can no longer access this email and to enter Dropbox to change email and password I need to enter my mailbox and it is impossible
The procedure you indicated to me states that I still have access to my account but I do not have access to either the email or the dropbox account.
I'm sorry, can you clarify if you're getting any particular error when trying to sign into your Dropbox account @darioi?
no my problem is that we can't log in because my GMAIL email was stolen
@darioi, just to clarify, are you being asked to enter this one-time security code to sign in to your Dropbox account?
NO SEND A MESSAGE TO THE EMAIL THAT I CAN NO LONGER OPEN TO VERIFY MY IDENTITY
Yes, however, not having access to the email doesnt stop you logging in. You just need the username and password to do so - the email address is almost irrelevent, unless as @Nancy has been asking it gives an error or asks for something. As you havent said what people cannot help you any further.
when I enter and enter my email and password he tells me that he sent an email to my address to verify who I am I don't know why he does this
That isnt anything to do with loosing access to your email, that isnt 2 factor security that is exactly what @Nancy said before: https://community.dropbox.com/home/leaving?allowTrusted=1&target=https%3A%2F%2Fhelp.dropbox.com%2Faccount-access%2Fone-time-code
The only way to resolve is via www.dropbox.com/get_help using the 'Contact Support about a log in issue' option.
It will be a form of further verification the problem is that I can not open my email
The only people who can even possibly circumvent the log-in to email requirement are Support. Nobody here can.
Its also worth pointing out that they may not be able to assist you, however, that is your only possibility of assistance.
I wrote to support, thank you, I'll let you know
