My Dropbox folder silently disappeared and I haven't accessed it recently.

I am a paid Dropbox user. I use it very often but not very folder is used all the time. Today I tried to retrieve some data from a folder I visited about a year ago. I found it disappeared. No trace, no way to find it anyway. Can't find it in deleted folder either. Does anybody has similar issue? Can I get some advice on this? Thanks.

Thank you for your reminder. I checked the events, it didn't show the folder I am searching for. But it can only go as far as Oct. 2025. The last time I used that folder was around Apr. 2025.

If you can't see it on the Events page, then the deletion occurred too long ago to still be shown.

Dropbox can't delete files or folders on its own, so something else had to have happened. Either you deleted the folder or some other process on your computer did. Another possibility is that it was accidentally moved into one of the surrounding folders (can happen easily if your mouse is still moving while you try to double click the folder to open it). Try looking in the folders immediately above and below where the missing folder would have been.

Unfortunately, given how long ago the deletion occurred, Dropbox wouldn't be able to recover the folder.

OK. Thanks! I know this would be the answer. So, I purchased an HHD and will back up all my files offline manually.
