I set all the switches for Dropbox on windows to save screenshots, but nothing is being saved in the screenshot folder ---- as it turns out it seems that OneDrive is getting the images --- how to I correct this so Dropbox get the images?
the db version is 222.4.5042 ---- not sure what has changed but when I powered up the laptop today I paused pcloud ( it was not onedrive ) and the screenshot was save to db and pcloud too --- I guess it working OK now
Hey @Frank P E., thanks for your post.
One thing to note is that your screenshots won’t save to your Dropbox account if you use the Windows Snipping tool, rather than the keyboard shortcut, to take a screenshot.
Can you ensure that you've turned off the “Use the Print screen key to open screen capture/Snipping Tool” setting in the accessibility settings of your Windows device and let me know if that helps?
Cheers!
Thanks for the reply -- I already did that --- removed the mapping for the 'prt scr' key to the windows snipping tool ---
Hi @Frank P E., let me jump in here!
Can you let us know which version of the Dropbox app you're using and your exact OS?
You can see that, along with the sync status of the app, by hovering over the Dropbox icon in your system tray.
One more thing: if you temporarily pause OneDrive, and try to take a screenshot do you then see it when accessing your Dropbox folder?
this is a new windows 11 laptop --- up to date with all patches --- I download and installed dropbox 3 days ago -- so it would be the lasts version of DB win app
Hey @Frank P E., I'd just like to check if you're maybe using a beta version, this is why I asked for it.
It could be the culprit of some issues, so I'd definitely appreciate it if you could check.
While you're at it, can you also clarify if you've tried pausing OneDrive by any chance? Did you notice the same behavior when you did?
