I have the Basic plan and can't access a folder that was shared with me. Getting a message, "Your account is out of storage!" However, when I look at usage, it shows "Using 0 GB of 2 GB space."

That means the shared folder is bigger than your free space (i.e. it is larger than 2gb in space).
You either need to get more space, get the shared folder smaller OR if you only need read only access ask for a shared link instead. https://help.dropbox.com/share/create-and-share-link
Hi @souseran, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
How large is the shared folder that you're trying to add to your account?
It would need to be smaller than the total amount of quota on your Dropbox account, as shared folders do take up quota on your account.
This will help me to assist further!
Jay, I have no idea how large it is. It's not my folder. It belongs to someone else and they're trying to share it with me. I'll have to ask them.
Thanks, Mark. Since the folder belongs to someone else and they're trying to share it with me, I'll ask them to give me access to a shared link.
Okay. The person who was sharing the folders created links and shared the files with me that way. All good. Thanks for everyone's help.
Pleased its sorted!
If you need to send something back to them you can ask for a requests link
